So you’ve searched the web for wedding dresses and finally found that special gown which will make you feel like a princess on your big day. So what do you do next? How do you go about getting the right wedding dress, in the right size and colour at the right time?
Before you purchase do one final check online to ensure you are getting your wedding dress at the right price; there are many discount wedding dresses online and you might just find your gown at a discounted price.
If you find your dream dress in a bridal magazine and want to search for the best online price you should visit the designer’s website and look up the style number. Armed with this information you can do an online search using the designer name and style number. The search results will often lead your wedding dress at a hugely discounted price. Theses dresses are discounted for many reasons such as surplus stock, bankrupt stock or ex sample dresses.
Once you are at the point where you want to make a purchase what should you do? You may want to contact the online store by phone or email in order to reassure yourself that your wedding dress is what you think it is. Before making contact you need to know which style number, manufacturer, size and colour you want. Most sites will have every thing online that you need to know but all good online stores will gladly answer any questions you may have so do not hesitate to contact them.
When placing your order double check the style number, the colour, the size and the delivery time. When picking your size double check size charts and it is a good idea to get measured by a seamstress for accurate measurements; use the one who is going to do your alterations.
Finally check for extra charges for plus size, rush cuts, delivery etc. Now place your order and wait patiently for your gown to arrive.

One of the biggest mistakes a bride can make is to purchase a wedding dress which does not suit her body shape. Very few brides have a body shape which suits all styles of gown but they are only a few. Most brides will suit only one or two styles and it is important that you realise which style suit your body shape.

While the variety of gown is countless they all fall into one of only five basic styles; A line, Ball Gown, Mermaid A line, Column and Empire. The names of these may vary from country to country but they are essentially the same basic styles.

Even if you are not carrying any excess body weight you may still not have a genetic shape to suit all types of gown. For example if you have a “pear shape”, as many women naturally have, do not try to squeeze into a column gown. All you’ll manage to do is to accentuate your bottom and not look the best you possibly can; after all isn’t that what you are trying to achieve.

Now that example might seem a little obvious but I just using it to make a point. Make sure you look your best and feel comfortable in your gown before you buy it.

Be honest with yourself and ask you friends or family to also be honest with their opinion of how the gown makes you look.

So that’s great but how do you manage this if you want to purchase your gown on line? Very few people buy the first house they look at, the first car they test drive so do not buy the first gown you try on. Go out a try on as many gowns as you feel you need to; initially concentrate on deciding which style best suits you. High street store are accustomed to brides coming back two or three times before they make a purchase so do not feel pressurized to buy just because they have spent time with you.

Once you find the style you like or even the gown you want spend time online finding the best price. You may want to go back to one of the stores and buy a gown from them but at least reassure yourself that you are not paying over the odds for your wedding dress.
